The little old man was in "Madame White Snake", the railway man in the beginning of "Battle in Outer Space", "The Three Treasures", the amusement park announcer in "The Secret of the Telegian", the cab driver in "Gorath", the witch doctor in "King Kong vs. Godzilla", a cab driver in "Atragon", a priest in "Godzilla vs. the Thing", the fisherman who finds the princess in "Ghidrah — the Three-Headed Monster", the dog owner in "Frankenstein Conquers the World", the elderly Infant Island slave in "Godzilla versus the Sea Monster", a frightened fisherman in "War of the Gargantuas", the Mondo Islander shot by Dr. Who in "King Kong Escapes", the old farmer who finds the Kilaak transmitter in "Destroy All Monsters", the noodle shop owner in "Godzilla’s Revenge", and Mafune's silent butler in "Terror of Mechagodzilla". 1957: "The Deadly Mantis" is released in Sweden.

1964: MORRIS ANKRUM, who played Dr. Jordan in "Half Human: The Story of the Abominable Snowman", dies of trichinosis in Pasadena, Calif.

1972: Episode 8 of "Kikaida", "The Carmine Spider Ominously Laughs", debuts on Japanese TV.
Episode 75 of "Kamen Rider", "Poisonous Flower Rose Demon Ranga — Secret of the House of Terror", debuts on Japanese TV.

1908: SEIZABURO KAWAZU is born. A former matinee idol in the 1930’s, he played Takemitsu Nanjo a.k.a. "The Invisible Man", Mr. Onishi in "The Secret of the Telegian", a general in "Mothra", "The Last War", Minister of Commerce Tada in "Gorath", the bearded gang leader in "Dagora, the Space Monster", and "Ultra Q". He died in 1983.

1912: KATSUMI TEZUKA, who shared monster suit duties in "Gojira" and "Varan the Unbelievable", is born. He also played Anguirus in "Godzilla Raids Again", a liquid person in "The H-Man", the neck of the larval "Mothra" and in "Ghidrah, the Three-Headed Monster", and a mushroom man in "Attack of the Mushroom People", and appeared in human form as Hagiwara's editor in "Gojira", "Rodan", "The Three Treasures", "Gorath", "Atragon", and "Godzilla vs. the Thing".

1920: JAMES LANPHIER, who played Col. Harvey in "The Deadly Mantis", is born in New York City.
