1928: RODDY MCDOWALL, who provided the voice of Instute Director Hugh Trevor in the "Deadloch" episode of "Godzilla: The Series", is born Roderick Andrew Anthony Jode McDowall in London, England. A former child actor, his films include "How Green Was My Valley", "My Friend Flicka", "Cleopatra", "Planet of the Apes", and "The Poseidon Adventure".

His roles include Prof. Tanaka in "Half Human: The Story of the Abominable Snowman", "The Last War", Dr. Munakata in "Dogora the Space Monster", the skeptical museum chief in "Frankenstein Conquers the World", Dr. Kita in "War of the Gargantuas", and the Japanese ambassador to Australia in "Tidal Wave", and appeared in films for Yasujiro Ozu and Akira Kurosawa.

1916: JAMES H. NICHOLSON, co-founder of American International Pictures with Samuel Z. Arkoff, is born. He was one of the executive producers of the stateside releases of "Attack of the Mushroom People", "Atragon", "The Lost World of Sinbad", and "Frankenstein Conquers the World", as well as producing "The Amazing Colossal Man", "War of the Colossal Beast", "I Was a Teenage Werewolf", "Earth vs. the Spider", "The Ghost in the Invisible Bikini", and "The Wild Angels".
