1905: TAKASHI SHIMURA, who played Dr. Kyohei Yamane in "Godzilla, King of the Monsters" and "Godzilla Raids Again", is born Shoji Shimazaki in Ikuno, Hyogo Prefecture, Japan. His other sci-fi credits include Dr. Adachi in "The Mysterians", elder Kumaso in "The Three Treasures", newspaper editor Amano in "Mothra", a priest in "The Whale God", Dr. Kensuke Sonoda in "Gorath", King Raksha in "The Lost World of Sinbad", the priest in "Kwaidan", Dr. Tsukamoto in "Ghidrah: The Three-Headed Monster", a scientist in Hiroshima in "Frankenstein Conquers the World", and a scientist in "The Last Days of Planet Earth". Shimura made "swordplay" movies before achieving fame in 22 of Akira Kurosawa's films, including "Sanshiro Sugata", "Drunken Angel", the woodcutter in "Rashomon", the dying bureaucrat in "Ikiru", Kambei the leader of "The Seven Samurai", "Throne of Blood", "The Hidden Fortress", "The Bad Sleep Well", "Yojimbo", "Sanjuro", "High and Low", "Red Beard", and "Kagemusha".
1941: TETSUKO KOBAYASHI, who played the Empress of Mu in "Atragon", is born.
1964: NAOMI MORINAGA, who played Anne on "Space Sheriff Shaider", Helen on "Dimensional Warrior Spielban", and was in "Kamen Rider ZO", is born in Kanagawa, Japan.
1967: Episode 35 of "Ultraman", "The Monster Graveyard", debuts on Japanese TV.
1968: YOSHIO KOSUGI, who frequently played South Sea island chiefs in Godzilla movies, dies.

1948: MIZUTANI KUNIHISA, who played Takeshi Yamato a.k.a. "Warrior of Love Rainbowman" is born.
1957: MITSUKO HORIE, who sang the theme songs for "Kamen Rider Stronger", "Secret Task Force Goranger", and "Ninja Captor", is born.
1964: HIROSHI TSUBURAYA, who played Dan Sawamura a.k.a. "Space Sheriff Shaider" on TV and in the movies "Space Sheriff Shaider: The Movie" and "Space Sheriff Shaider: Pursuit! Shigi Shigi Abduction Plan", is born. The grandson of Eiji Tsuburaya, he also was Col. Seiji Miyata on "Ultraman Dyna" and KCB Director Kenji Tabata in "Ultraman Gaia", and played his father Hajime in Episode 49 of "Ultraman Tiga".

1932: MOMOKO KOCHI, who played Emiko Yamane in "Godzilla, King of the Monsters" and "Godzilla vs. Destoroyah", is born Momoko Okochi in Tokyo. Kochi also played Machiko Takeno in "Half-Human: The Story of the Abominable Snowman" and Hiroko in "The Mysterians". She made her film debut in "A Woman's Heart Released".
1972: VICTOR WONG, who played Charlie the cook in "King Kong", dies.
1973: BARTLOMIEJ SWIDERSKI, who played Stunner in “Avalon”, is born in Wroclaw, Poland.
