Iwao Hyodo in "Godzilla vs. Biollante", "Godzilla vs. Mechagodzilla II" and "Godzilla vs. Space Godzilla", the aquarium watchman in "Godzilla vs. Destoroyah", a military man in "Godzilla 2000", the village headman in "Godzilla, Mothra, King Ghidorah: Giant Monsters All-Out Attack", and General Dobashi in "Godzilla Against Mechagodzilla" and "Godzilla: Tokyo S.O.S."

1967: Episode 38 of "Ultraman", "Spaceship Rescue Command", debuts on Japanese TV.
1972: "Kaettekita Urutoraman" a.k.a. "Return of Ultraman", premieres on TBS TV in Japan. "Chojin Baromu wan" ("Superhuman Barom-1") premieres on Japanese TV.
1973: "Ryusei Ningen Zon" ("Meteor Man Zone") a.k.a. "Zone Fighter" premieres on Japanese TV with Episode 1, "Destroy the Terro-Beast Missile!".
1975: "Evil of Dracula" is released in the U.S.
1977: "JAKQ Dengeki Tai" ("JAKQ Blitzkrieg Squad") premieres on Japanese TV.

1993: Episode 6 of "Five Star Task Force Dairanger" debuts on Japanese TV.
1997: TOMOYUKI TANAKA, producer of the Godzilla series from 1954 through 1995, dies of a stroke at 86 in Tokyo. He produced over 200 films, including many of Akira Kurosawa's classics.
2000: Episode 10 of "Kamen Rider Kuuga", "Severity", debuts on Japanese TV.

1913: FRANK KING, who produced "Gorgo" and the U.S. release of "Rodan" with his brother Maurice, is born Frank Kozinski in New York City.
1920: TOSHIRO MIFUNE, who played Prince Yamato Takeru in "The Three Treasures", Sukezaemon Naya a.k.a. Luzon a.k.a. Sinbad in "The Lost World of Sinbad", and Taketori-no-Miyatsuko in "Princess from the Moon", is born in Tsingtao, China. Japan’s most famous actor, Mifune starred in many of Akira Kurosawa’s classics, including "Drunken Angel", "Rashomon", "The Seven Samurai", "Throne of Blood", "The Hidden Fortress", "The Bad Sleep Well", "Yojimbo", "Sanjuro", and "High and Low", as well as Hiroshi Inagaki’s "Samurai" trilogy and "The Rickshaw Man". He also appeared in American productions like "Grand Prix", "Hell in the Pacific", "Paper Tiger", "Midway", "1941", the miniseries "Shogun", "Winter Kills", "The Challenge", "Journey of Honor", and "Shadow of the Wolf".

1929: ALAN SMITHEE, who directed "Gunhed" and "Solar Crisis", is born in Hollywood, Calif.
1941: EMI and YUMI ITO a.k.a. The Peanuts, who played the Shobijin (Twin Fairies) in "Mothra", "Godzilla vs. the Thing", and "Ghidrah, the Three-headed Monster", are born Hideyo and Tsukiko Ito in Nagoya. They also were in "Me and Me", "Double Trouble", "Big Adventure", and "Las Vegas Free-for-All" and appeared on "The Ed Sullivan Show".
1944: KO KURAISHI, who played Nazis Jagar on "Vigilante Zubat" and Masao Maruoka in "Time Slip", is born in Nagano, Japan.
1959: The "Moonlight Mask" feature film is released in Japan.
1962: ADAM SAWELSON, sound re-recording mixer on "Gargantua", is born in Los Angeles.
1968: Episode 26, the final episode of "Giant Robo", debuts on Japanese TV
