1888: JIM THORPE, who played a native dancer in "King Kong", is born in Prague, Indian Territory (now Oklahoma). Thorpe is considered the greatest athlete of the first half of the 20th century, being a football and baseball star and winning the pentathlon and decathlon in the 1912 Olympics.
1936: MAKI ISHII, composer on "Ultra Q: The Movie", is born in Tokyo.
1952: YUKITOMO TOCHINO, who played Murata in “Zeiram” and “Zeiram 2”, a homeless man in “Gamera 3: Revenge of Irys”, and was in “Moon over Tao”, is born in Kure City, Hiroshima Prefecture, Japan. He also did the special gun effects in “Zeiram 2” and “Hakaider” and was the tattoo artist on “Moon over Tao”.
1959: "The H-Man" is released in the U.S.
1969: "Destroy All Monsters" is released in the U.S.
1969: "The Green Slime" is reviewed in Variety.
